Separate a browser page from an application

A browser tab, a home-screen shortcut and an installed application are different ways to reach content. Check which one is in front of you before following instructions intended for another environment. A shortcut does not by itself confirm that a separate application has been installed.

Check which mobile options are available at the destination. Opening a mobile page does not require you to accept an installation offer. Review those options on the actual device rather than assuming that every visitor sees the same screen.

Give the screen enough room

When a keyboard covers the next control, finish the current field and close the keyboard before continuing. Rotate the device only when doing so makes the content easier to read; check the current field after the orientation changes. Avoid tapping repeatedly while a screen is still moving or loading.

Keep text large enough to read. If a page is difficult to use at your preferred text size, record the issue rather than shrinking important information beyond a comfortable level. A precise report identifies the device, orientation and control involved.

Keep one active session in focus

Switching between an app and a browser can leave more than one window open. Read the destination and the account identity when returning to a window, particularly after the device restores an older session. Do not assume that the most recently visible screen contains the most recent result.

If a task stops midway, keep the message and approximate time before trying again. Completing the same action in two places can make it unclear which response belongs to the original request. Follow the provider’s instructions for interrupted sessions.

Check the source of an installation prompt

An installation offer deserves a separate decision from opening a mobile page. Read the publisher information, requirements and permissions before accepting. Download covers the questions to resolve before using a file from an external source.

Do not treat a forwarded message as a verified release notice. This website does not host packages or publish a tested device-compatibility list. Leave the installation unfinished when the information needed to evaluate it is missing.

Make shared-device boundaries visible

Do not save credentials on a phone that other people routinely use. Check notification previews when account-related messages appear on the lock screen. Keep screenshots of private messages out of shared albums and avoid posting a full-screen capture when only an error message is relevant.

At the end of a session, use the sign-out option provided by the external service. Confirm what remains open before lending the device to someone else. Closing a visible screen is not a reason to assume that every session or saved credential has been removed.

Describe a mobile problem clearly

Include the device type, browser or app environment, orientation and exact point where the issue occurred. State whether the keyboard was visible or a second window opened. Those details help separate a display issue from an account decision.

Questions about this website’s layout belong in Contact; provider-controlled account or application questions belong with the external service. Support keeps those paths distinct.
