Choose the stopping point while it is still easy to choose.

Name the end before the beginning

Decide how much time you want to spend before opening an activity. Pick a stopping point that leaves room for sleep, meals and the commitments already in your day. Keep a clock visible and choose the next non-screen task in advance.

A limit is more useful when it is specific. An end time or a planned break is easier to recognise than a general intention to stop later. Keep that limit unchanged when you switch devices or destinations.

Pause when the next action becomes automatic

Repeatedly opening the same screen, changing routes without new information or continuing because a task feels unfinished are reasons to pause. Step away from the device and return to the original plan before deciding what happens next.

A notification or membership prompt does not require an immediate response. You can leave an offer unused and a session unfinished. Do not let a new screen quietly extend the time you had set aside.

Keep everyday boundaries visible

Do not allow online activity to displace rest, meals or responsibilities. Keep devices away from situations that need your attention, and avoid using a shared account or device to continue after your planned stopping point.

Use available device reminders or time controls only when you understand their settings. A reminder can support a decision, but it does not make the decision for you. Do not assume that an external service provides a particular limit or pause feature unless you can confirm it there.

When staying within the plan is difficult

Close the activity and give yourself a period away from the screen. Make the next step practical: move to another task, put the device aside or speak with someone you trust about the boundary you want to keep.

If online activity repeatedly affects everyday life or feels difficult to stop, consider seeking appropriate local support. Choose support appropriate to your circumstances, and check any available account restriction options directly with the service concerned.

Support without pressure

The Support information separates website issues from external account decisions. An account question can wait while you take a break. No status label or unfinished process requires you to remain online.

Use the Contact information for a website correction when an editorial channel is available. Never send private account details to explain that you want to stop or take time away.
